Oak planks
Wood is used as a raw material in construction where it is used as construction and structural timber, it is also used for building roofs and finishing works and in the floor and parquet production. Furniture, terraces, stairs, windows and doors are made of wood. Lumber is the main raw material in the timber industry. Its use is enormous. Hard wood is ideal for carpentry and furniture whereas soft wood is used to manufacture windows, doors and floors. Oak planks are among the widely used board lumber. The planks are over 40 mm thick.
Oak planks features
Oak planks are construction lumber which is made by machine cutting of trunks felled trees using a saw mill or gang saw. Their general dimensions are width 300-600 mm, thickness 40-100 mm and length 3000-7000 mm.
Quality oak planks are used for floors, door frame constructions, etc. As already mentioned, oak planks are widely used in various types of construction projects. The advantage of oak wood are its thermal characteristics which give it a unique advantage over other materials, in terms of a high temperature resistance. Wood dries and becomes stronger when the temperature rises unlike, for example, steel which expands under the influence of heat. Because of this, oak lumber is generally ideal for structural beams that are expected to have high strength, such as structural beams or square beams which transfer the load from the roof to the house walls.
The best oak planks are used in furniture and floor industry and also as a material for window and decorative elements production which are placed in apartments or cars. Lower grade lumber is not useless, it is used in construction and paper industry.
