Years ago, there was a trend in Czech interiors to lay oak panelling boards throughout the room. Today, designers are turning to minimalism and only using wood on walls as a decorative element. Although the oak boards decorate one wall or a small fragment of the apartment, they get all the attention thanks to the original design, unusual colours and shapes. Instead of narrow wood panelling, wide wooden planks arranged vertically, horizontally or diagonally take the place.

If you are planning to use oak panelling boards in your interior, you always have to take into account that not every partition can support the weight of the wooden structure. Partition walls made of plasterboard require additional reinforcement, which should be done in the assembly phase using special frames and partitions. 

Before starting installation work, make sure that the wall is properly prepared. The surface must be clean, smooth, levelled and dry. This is especially important if you plan to fasten oak boards directly to the wall using mounting glue. Attention! After you receive the boards, they should be unpacked and left in the destination room for a few days. Thanks to this, the wood gets used to new conditions – temperature and humidity inside. Only when the wood acclimatizes, it is possible to start tiling the walls in the interior.
