Oak square-edged lumber

According to the CSN EN 844-3, lumber if defined as a product made of logs or cut-outs by longitudinal division. It is possibly shortened or achieves a certain dimensional accuracy. Coniferous or deciduous trees are used. We use oak wood 

Division of timber 

Lumber is divided according to the tree, shape and cross-sectional dimensions, but also according to the type of processing. Regarding the type of processing, it is divided into waney-edged (live-edged) or squared up timber. Waney-edged timber is a slab with parallel surfaces and one or two untreated- rough sides. 

Oak squared-up or edged timber is made by parallel machining of rough lumber. It is defined as a lumber with a right-angled cross-section. It can be waney but that must not exceed the permitted allowance. 

Lumber according to the woodworking processing method: 

• waney-edged (live edges) 
• squared-up edged 

According to the shape, the lumber is divided into slab, edged and semi-edged. Slab lumber includes both waney -edged and squared-up edged timber up to 100 mm thick, which is twice the width of its thickness. They are divided into boards, planks and top cut slabs. 

Oak square edged timber has a right angle in cross section and the width is less than twice its thickness.

Custom made oak squared-up timber 

We custom make oak squared-up timber. For its production we use logs of oak trees, which come exclusively from domestic and Slovak forests. The log is properly dried and stored before processing. Oak wood is a durable, ecological and health-friendly material. It can be fully recycled. Potential waste can be turned into biomass, which is a useful solution for heating homes.
