- logs – elements with a thickness of 50 to 100 and a width of 100 to 250 mm,
- plates/slats – elements with a cross-section of 29 to 70 mm,
- patches or strips – elements with a cross-section, they cannot be larger than 75-140 mm,
- squares – elements with a cross-section from 100 to 100 and 175 to 175 mm,

Where is oak lumber used
Oak lumber is the main raw material of the wood industry, it is used for the production of floor panels, furniture and decorative elements. Oak lumber is used in the carpentry, construction and woodworking industries as well as in the paper industry. The lumber should have suitable technical parameters depending on the use of the material. Hard oak wood is especially suitable for various carpentry, furniture and floor work. Soft coniferous wood is used for roof structures, windows, doors, but also boards and floors.
How to store oak lumber
Proper storage of lumber is a very important issue. Improperly stored oak lumber may be damaged and deformed and may not be suitable for further use. Timber should be stored in piles, i.e. boards twenty-five millimetres thick in the fresh air or in a specially designed room. The stack should be set on support or concrete poles to prevent the wood from getting wet. Only chimneys have favourable conditions for drying and preserving lumber.
